Finishing Touches For Your

Where Security Matters

Things to Consider When Booking a Band for Your Wedding

So you’re getting married and are now on to the most important part, the planning. Wedding planning is essential and exhausting. Be that as it may, it can also be a lot of fun if you are creating something you really will remember for decades.

Amongst the floral arrangements and seating arrangements, you will find the entertainment arrangements. You can’t expect your lovely friends and family to come and see you off in marriage without thoroughly celebrating. So naturally, you will come to the conclusion that you need to choose between a DJ or a live band. Let’s dive into your options.

Type of Music

Your partner and yourself should be the ones to decide on what option you take based on what you both want on your big day. Do you both prefer jazz hits as your guests mingle? Or would you prefer that a DJ plays all of your favorite songs?

If you decide on looking into live bands for hire, do you want a cover band or a band that will play their own kind of music? Most towns have cover bands that are available to do small gigs and could be in the right price range. If you are looking for someone a little bit higher up in the industry, you may have to pay a little more.

Generally, between DJs and live bands, the DJ is going to be less of an expense. However, if you’re not worried about money, you may want to spring for classical musicians to play Mozart and Beethoven. All you really need to worry about is what you and your partner decide on together.

How and When

Even if you prefer a DJ, you will need to find the proper location for their performance. Wedding venues may be more tailored to hold events and may have a stage for your entertainer. If you were hosting at home or another venue, find an area to prepare for their set.

Think of how the acoustics would be in this area and make sure you test run before showtime. You’ll want to make sure that all of the attendees can hear your entertainer. Additionally, you’ll want your entertainer to feel comfortable and be able to provide their best.

Although everything should come straight from the heart of yourself and your partner, you must be prepared for the vibe. The overall feel of the reception will be fueled by your entertainer. Make sure they are playing when you want them in your reception itinerary.

Sneak Peak

The easiest way to decide what fits best for your wedding is to experience the live act prior to hiring. How do you know if the band that has all the best reviews in your town is the right band for your wedding? Get a preview!

You may not have the ability to see your potential DJ or band perform live, as they may be booked well in advance, but you may be able to see clips of them online. If you keep open communication with your entertainment scouting, many performers can send you in the direction of a sample.

Plenty of live bands and DJs that are traditional wedding performers will be happy to accommodate your requests. They understand that this is your big day and want to make sure they are giving you what you are looking for.

Once you have these bases covered, I think you could start to get out there and do your search. Preparedness is key to a pain-free event and your wedding doesn’t need to be any different.
